FIGURE DE RELIQUAIRE - Proche du style shamayé, cette figure de reliquaire est à rapprocher de celles du centre traditionnel d’artisanat du village d’Otala. Gabon, région de l’haut Ogooué, peuple Kota. Fin XIXe. Âme de bois plaquée de feuilles de cuivre et de laiton décorée. Dimensions : 45 x 26,5 cm. Provenance : Acquis en Belgique il y a une vingtaine d'années. RELIQUARY FIGURE - Very close in style to the shamayé Kota, this reliquary figure is similar to those of the traditional artistic center in the village of Otala, whose main artist was the chief Okwéré. Gabon, region of the upper Ogooué, Kota people. Late 19th century. Wood core with decorated copper and brass sheets. Dimensions: 45 x 26,5 cm. Provenance : Acquired in Belgium some twenty years ago.
