Solomon Island Double Bowl

Solomon Island Double Bowl

Small bowls such as this example, while usually singular, were used for condiments, either salt, coconut cream or milk or other smaller tasty foods. Solomon Islands, Melanesia. Blackened wood with nautilus shell inlay. 33 x 18,5 x 5,5 cm. 19th/20th century.
