Exceptional tapa or maro, representing a large mythological fish and a small stylized male ancestral figure. These maro or painting on tapa are originally loincloths made and worn around the waist by married women, the painted bark loincloths symbolizing the passage to adulthood in the societies of Lake Sentani. Exceptionnel tapa ou maro, représentant un grand poisson mythologique et une petite figure ancestrale masculine stylisée. Ces maro ou peinture sur tapa sont à l’origine des pagnes fabriqués et portés autour de la taille par les femmes mariées, les pagnes en écorce peinte symbolisant le passage à l’âge adulte dans les sociétés du lac Sentani.
