Wadke Jamna Amulet Figure
An extremely rare amulet representing a standing male ancestor. Some of these amulets were reportedly used in maritime magic and taken on canoes for use while fishing. Yamna Island, North Coast, Irian Jaya, Indonesian New Guinea. Wood with a very fine patina of age and use. 17.5 x 3.8 x 4.3 cm. 19/20th century.
